The History of Lenape & its People by Cecile Culp
From the Author: I feel it is my obligation to leave the history of all that I know and of the people I knew while there. I will start with my ancestors who came as the first settlers to build the Union Pacific Railroad and from this generation, other generations lived in Lenape until the 1951 flood washed the town away completely. The depot was the only building left after the flood and now all that remains of this town are my words of its history. There are no outward signs that the town of Lenape ever existed and it will not be found on any maps. This is information for our future generations so that they may read and understand how our first towns were settled and came into being.
